    Checking Your Application

    It is your responsibility to ensure that you submit an accurate application.  Incomplete, unsigned, or illegible applications will be returned to you unprocessed. You will be advised why your application was rejected and invited to re-submit a correct application.

    Make sure you have: 

    • Answered truthfully. It is an offence under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act to make false declaration or to otherwise misrepresent a material fact. Misrepresentation may have serious consequences on this, or future attempts to enter Canada;

    • Personally signed your original application form in the same way as shown in your passport. No Power of Attorney signatures will be accepted;

    • Attached the Program Participation Fee as a bank cheque or Australia Post money order made payable to the Consulate General of Canada. Write your full name on the bank of the cheque or money order.

    • Attached a clear photocopy of the photo page of your Australian passport. DO NOT send your actual passport;

    • Included 2 photographs. For specifications, please refer to Visa Application Photograph Specifications;

    • Included a Police Certificate and Traffic History printout. For instructions, please refer to Obtaining Documents (link)

    • And any other information that is requested on your customized checklist.


    Staple your application together in this order:

    1. fee
    2. application form page1
    3. application form page2 (signed) with 2 passport photos stapled on the appropriate boxes
    4. photocopy of passport photo page
    5. police certificate
    6. traffic history certificate (if you are residing or had resided in QLD, VIC, or WA since you turned 18)
    7. any other documentation requested in the emailed customized checklist of requirements
