    FAQ: Technical

    1. I do not have an email account.
    2. I have not received my 'activation email.'
    3. The link in my 'activation email' does not work.
    4. I have received but cannot access my activation email. What is wrong?
    5. I have filled in my details on the internet, however, when I print out the copy to sign, some of my details are wrong; OR, I have entered in some wrong information but finalised/submitted. What do I do?
    6. I have not received my Letter of Introduction?
    7. I have generated two applications online. Is this OK?
    8. I have submitted and sent in my application form. However, I have since changed my email address. What do I do ; OR, I want my Letter of Introduction sent to a different email address to the one I submitted. Is this possible?
    9. I cannot open my activation email/Letter of Introduction link because my computer says it contains a virus. What do I do?

     


    1. Q: I do not have an email account.

    A: You must have a valid email address to apply for the WHP Canada. Your electronic Letter of Introduction will be sent to this address if successful.

    2. Q: I have not received my 'activation email.'


    A: Your activation email will be sent to you immediately upon submitting your email address. It may take a few minutes to arrive, please be patient. Please also check your bulk/junk inbox. If it does not arrive within one hour, please ensure you have enter the correct email address and try again by clicking re-enter your email and submit again.

    If you have a high security filter on your email inbox, please ensure it is enabled to receive mail from whpcanada.sydney@international.gc.ca  by adding this address to your safe list.

    If your email accounts is addressed with @optusnet.com.au, please re-apply with a different email account (i.e. yahoo). We have experienced some technical difficulties with these Optus accounts. We have also encountered problems with Hotmail.

    3. Q: The link in my 'activation email' does not work.

    A: If the link to continue your online application in the 'activation email' does not work, please try copying the link and pasting it into the URL field of your browser (hit "enter"). If this does not work, please re-enter your email and submit again. If you continue to have problems, please email whpcanada.sydney@international.gc.ca

    4. Q: I have received but cannot access my activation email. What is wrong?

    1. Please ensure that you have downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader version 7 (or higher) onto your computer.
    2. If this fails, make sure you have enough storage space in your inbox.
    3. If this fails, access the attachments through a different PC (family or friends etc).  Again, ensure that Adobe Acrobat Reader is downloaded onto the computer you wish to open your activation email.

    5. Q: I have filled in my details on the internet, however, when I print out the copy to sign, some of my details are wrong; OR , I have entered in some wrong information but finalised/submitted.  What do I do?

    A: Please amend details by hand and attach a covering letter stating you have entered some incorrect or omitted some details.

    6. Q: I have not received my Letter of Introduction.  

    1. When enquiring about that status of your Letter of Introduction/Application, please ensure that it has been more than 4 weeks since you sent in your application.
    2. If a staff member confirms that you have been successful to the program and you still have not received your Letter of Introduction, it will be resent to your email account.  It is recommended that you wait 24 hours for its arrival.

    7. Q: I have generated two applications online. Is this OK?

    A: Yes, this is fine. Please ensure you only send ONE application and that you follow all requirements on the checklist.

    8. Q: I have submitted and sent in my application form. However, I have since changed my email address. What do I do?; OR, I want my Letter of Introduction sent to a different email address to the one I submitted. Is this possible?

    A: Yes, we can change the email address to which the Letter of Introduction is to be sent. Please contact the WHP Canada staff.

    9. Q: I cannot open my activation email link because my computer says it contains a virus. What do I do?

    A: This problem may have occurred because your email security is set on a high level, thus intercepting legitimate mail. In order to remedy the situation please undertake the following steps:

    1) Ensure that you have removed the security feature which either block, intercepts, or renders the email we send you unsafe.


    2) Attempt to reopen the attachment and download the Letter of Introduction and receipt.


    3) If this fails to work, please attempt to access the email through a different computer. Please ensure that Adobe Acrobat Reader is downloaded onto this computer.


    4) If you are still unable to access the email, please create another email account and contact the WHP so we can resend your Letter of Introduction and receipt to your new email account.


    N.B. the warning with regards to a virus is just that - a warning. Please continue the procedure of downloading the attachments if such an option exists. If the problem persists, please contact us.
