    Program Participation Fee

    The Program Participation Fee (PPF) is Australian $160 made payable to the Consulate General of Canada in the form of:

    • An Australia Post money order OR

    • A bank cheque (can be issued for a fee by a bank where you have an account. Must be signed by an authorised employee of the bank. A cheque signed by yourself or your parent is NOT acceptable.) OR

    • If you are applying from outside Australia and cannot request someone in Australia to purchase an Australia Post money order or bank cheque and submit your application on your behalf, you may obtain an international bank draft for A$160. Note that the currency must be in Australian $ and the international bank draft must include the name of the Australian drawee bank (this normally appears in the lower left portion of the international bank draft).

    NO other forms of payment are acceptable:

    • DO NOT send a personal cheque.
      (A personal cheque is prepared on one’s personal cheque book and signed by the owner of the cheque book such as your parent or yourself. This type of payment is NOT acceptable.)

    • DO NOT send a credit card payment.

    • DO NOT send a company cheque. 
      (A company cheque is prepared on one’s company/business cheque book and signed by the owner of the cheque book. This type of payment is NOT acceptable.)

    • DO NOT send cash.

    • DO NOT send one cheque for multiple applications; each application must have its own PPF cheque

    A receipt will be included with your Letter of Introduction.


    Refund / Reimbursement Policy

    The WHP participation fee will only be reimbursed if:

    • Your WHP application package is not accepted due to it being incorrectly or incompletely filled out;

    • You do not meet the eligibility criteria of the WHP and thus cannot be a participant;

    • You cannot be issued a work permit by reason of medical or criminal inadmissibility or because you have not been able to satisfy the assessing officer that you will come back to your home country or country of usual residence; or,

    • You voluntarily withdraw your application before the Letter of Introduction is issued.

    The participation fee will NOT be reimbursed if:

    • A Letter of Introduction has been issued, thereby confirming that a work permit can be issued to you at the Port of Entry. From the moment that your Letter of Introduction is issued, you are deemed to be a participant, whether you end up participating or not; or,

    • You include inaccurate information on your application form or any additional forms or requirements as part of your WHP application to circumvent the official requirements of the WHP and, as such, falsely represent yourself.

    Please take note that Participation Fees are not transferable under any circumstances, neither from person to person nor from year to year.
