Applications will be processed in date received order. The post marked date on the envelope and/or the date you completed the online processing are not taken into consideration.
You should NOT book/pay for any travel to Canada, purchase insurance for your stay in Canada, or make commitments to your prospective employer in Canada (if you have one) until you receive your Letter of Introduction.
Processing times will vary throughout the course of the program according to the volume of applications in process:
Routine applications that do not involve medical(s) or criminal inadmissibility, police or military service record, immigration or security issues, should be finalised within four to six weeks;
Applications cannot be 'fast tracked' under any circumstances;
Applications cannot be 'put on hold'.
If you are successful in your WHP application, your Letter of Introduction email will be sent to your designated email account. You must print the Letter of Introduction for presentation to a Canadian Port of Entry officer. If you lose the letter, you can print it again.
